Artglass AR 99 Protect is made from two layers of premium low-iron anti-reflective glass. The sheets are treated with anti-reflective coating on one side and bonded with a PVB film. The bonding film ensures maximum UV protection, and ensures that the laminated glass sides don't reflect any of the surrounding light.

What is Artglass laminated glass made of?

Laminated glass consists of two sheets of glass that are permanently bonded with an ultra-transparent PVB film layer. Both surfaces of Artglass AR 99 Protect laminated glass are anti-reflective, achieving the same visual appearance as our other near-invisible products. In case of shattering, glass shards remain attached to the interlayer and reduces the risk of damaging the artwork.

How to cut Artglass AR 99 Protect?

Because Artglass AR 99 Protect consists of two individual glass sheets, bonded together with a PVB film, laminated glass needs to be cut from both sides. Score the glass from one side, then flip the glass sheet and score again from the other side along the same line. After, break the glass along the scored line and use a knife to cut the bonding film.

Artglass AR 99 Protect laminated glass will make sure your artwork is protected from light, but there are other conditions that can potentially affect the artwork within the frame. The matboard choice, the mount type, spacing, and other choices will affect the environment of your framed piece. As soon as you notice any unwanted forms of deterioration in your frame, you should consult with a certified framer who is knowledgeable in all the aspects of conservation framing.

CAN I DISPLAY MY ART IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT IF IT'S FRAMED WITH Artglass AR 99 Protect?

Hanging your artworks in direct sunlight is never advisable, especially if they are artworks of value. Constant exposure to direct sunlight can cause minor effects even behind the most protective glazing product.
